China’s urban–rural dichotomy has resulted in a widening gap between urban and rural areas, posing significant challenges to development. This study aims investigate the spatio-temporal differentiation driving mechanisms of industry integration within Chengdu–Chongqing Economic Circle China. Using panel data from 2011 2020, we employed entropy weight TOPSIS method construct comprehensive index that charts evolution across various districts counties. Additionally, utilized fixed-effect spatio-temporally weighted regression models analyze underlying forces behind this integration. Our findings reveal dynamic varied landscape integration, with different levels depth breadth subsystems. Spatially, observed transition dispersed more concentrated agglomeration pattern Circle. shift suggests diffusion effect emanating core metropolitan as well an attracting force exerted by adjacent circles. In terms drivers, market demand, openness level, financial development, policy support, agricultural insurance significantly contribute However, technological progress human capital exhibit weaker correlation. Notably, our identified pronounced spatial–temporal heterogeneity among these influencing factors, highlighting nuanced relationship them. Overall, emphasizes crucial role bridging divide fostering sustainable development revitalization. The insights gained research provide valuable guidance for policymakers stakeholders seeking optimize strategies unlock potential integrated industries.

The urban built-up land green use efficiency (UBLGUE) of the Central Plains Urban Agglomeration (CPUA) is greatly affected by China Rise policy. However, studies on how socioeconomic factors affect UBLGUE in underdeveloped agglomerations are lacking, and little empirical research has placed particular emphasis Based statistical data 2003–2020, this study explores dynamic spatial–temporal characteristics determines influencing mechanism CPUA via super-SBM–DEA method panel regression model. results indicate following: average prefecture cities presents a significant fluctuating trend from 2003 to 2020. characterized spatial imbalance. Over period Rise, main differentiation economic development, industrial structure, environmental regulation intensity, energy consumption intensity. strong attributes positively promoted development. In contrast, intensity significantly hinder UBLGUE. Energy strongest negative effect Finally, corresponding policy recommendations proposed promote based conclusions obtained.
