Does the immediate reimbursement of medical insurance reduce the socioeconomic inequality in health among the floating population? Evidence from China

Abstract Background Enhancing health intervention for floating populations has become an essential aspect of public around the world. China launched a policy reform aimed at implementing immediate reimbursement trans-provincial inpatient treatments. The objective this study was to investigate effects change on socioeconomic inequality in among population. Methods This used two waves individual-level data from Migrants Dynamic Survey (CMDS) collected 2017 and 2018 as well administrative hospital city level. sample included 122061 individuals 262 cities. Under quasi-experimental research design, we built up framework employ generalized multi-period difference-in-differences estimation strategy. We number qualified hospitals that could provide represent degree intensity implementation change. also calculated Wagstaff Index (WI) measure health.
