It is essential to understand the impact of built environment on origin–destination (OD) ridership, as this understanding crucial for optimisation urban rail systems and advancement transit-oriented development (TOD) strategies. This study utilises an eXtreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) model analyse non-linear relationships across 16 factors, including population density, land use transportation access, influencing OD flows weekdays weekends. The analysis, employing Tianjin Metro a case study, yielded three key findings. factors at origin destination stations exhibit temporal variations. During weekday morning peak hours, explanatory variables hold greater importance than those stations, while opposite true evening peaks demonstrated that connectivity are among most significant with score 3.50% both thereby underscoring their substantial ridership attraction. Non-linear interactions reveal threshold effects, emphasising complex relationship between characteristics flows. insights derived from analysis offer practical guidance planners, informing design efficient integration TOD

This study aimed to determine the geospatial distribution of Virtual Leisure (VL) users and impact VL on users' reality leisure behaviours. The empirical analysis was conducted using cell phone usage data collected from Unicom platform in Wuhan, China (N= 2.84×106). information duration virtual APP usage, their place residence, frequency visits spaces. Our research suggests that individuals residing suburban areas, situated at a distance urban centres, are more likely use compared those living central city, although levels remain high latter. Furthermore, our findings also indicate individual's behaviour an individual varies according type activity, which could either act as substitute or facilitator. can inform discussion geography interaction real spaces, intervention

Tracking forced relocation due to urban regeneration can help deepen the understanding of beyond perceived limits displacement. Existing research has not sufficiently explored new experiences following adjustment China's urban-regeneration policy. This article explores an approach that uses location-based service data study relocatees for regeneration, which be generalized across different regions expand international knowledge and comparative research. Focusing on Wuhan, impact living environment was evaluated from three aspects: housing conditions, neighborhood facilities, jobs–housing commuting, using difference-in-difference model. The found: (1) most chose live near their original residences; (2) improved conditions decreased commuting but a negative effect facilities. We conclude by discussing methodology applying mobile phone studies.

Between 2019 and 2022, passenger volume on China’s urban rail transit system sharply declined due to strict COVID-19 control measures. On 8 January 2023, China implemented the “Class B infectious disease Class management” policy, marking a significant shift towards more relaxed approach epidemic control. The main objective of this study is evaluate immediate lasting effects policy volume. We used interrupted time series (ITS), combined with quasi-Poisson regression models counterfactual analysis, analyze monthly operation data covering period from 2021 June 2024 for 42 cities. Our analysis shows that, relative expected trend without any intervention, average increased by approximately 101.34% after policy’s implementation, observed in 41 cities 33 concludes that has generally promoted nationwide recovery volume, although heterogeneity across This result indicates reduction travel restrictions restoration public safety, resulting relaxation prevention measures, contributed overall transit. not only provides innovative methodological insights but also offers valuable guidance developing effective planning strategies operational measures post-pandemic era.
