In
mammals,

called
trophoblasts
(cytotrophoblasts,

trophoblasts).
However,
viruses
have
developed
mechanisms
that
help
them
invade
placenta,
causing
various
conditions
such
as
necrosis,
poor
perfusion,
membrane
rupture
which,
in
turn,
can
impact
development
