Huge amounts of noxious chemicals from coal and petrochemical refineries pharmaceutical industries are released into water bodies. These highly toxic cause adverse effects on both aquatic terrestrial life. The removal hazardous contaminants industrial effluents is expensive environmentally driven. majority the technologies applied nowadays for phenols other based physio-chemical processes such as solvent extraction, chemical precipitation, adsorption. efficiency chemicals, especially phenols, low with these when concentrations very low. Furthermore, major drawbacks high operation costs inadequate selectivity. To overcome limitations, researchers applying biological membrane together, which gaining more attention because their ease use, selectivity, effectiveness. In present review, microbial degradation phenolics in combination intensified bioreactors (MBRs) has been discussed. Important factors, including origin mode phenols' biodegradation well characteristics optimal phenolic considered. modifications MBRs various wastewater sources have also addressed this review article. economic analysis cost benefits MBR technology compared conventional treatments discussed extensively.

The economic development, utilization of petroleum and industrial production have produced a large quantity emulsified oily wastewater, which will pose serious threat to human beings the environment if it is discharged into without proper treatment. conventional treatment methods for wastewater mainly include physical, chemical, biological methods. Membrane separation technology, as representative physical has become research hotspot. A number studies shown that membrane technology many advantages such low energy consumption, cost, high efficiency, environmental protection. However, practical engineering application dominated by chemical rather than technology. So, reason why not been widely applied in practice warrants investigation. In this paper, two main issues are summarized after comprehensive analysis: (1) mechanism demulsification still unclear, especially migration transformation emulsifiers during process demulsification; (2) some limitations stability pollution needs be overcome. Therefore, paper deeply analyzes barriers various technologies with overview emulsion system starting point. An important emphasis status fouling problem. Finally, field worthy attention future development put forward.

In modern times, wastewater treatment is vital due to increased water contamination arising from pollutants such as nutrients, pathogens, heavy metals, and pharmaceutical residues. Polysaccharides (PSAs) are natural, renewable, non-toxic biopolymers used in the field of gas separation, liquid filtration, adsorption processes, pervaporation, proton exchange membranes. Since addition nanoparticles PSAs improves their sustainability strength, nanocomposite has gained significant attention for past decade. This review presents a comprehensive analysis PSA-based nanocomposites efficient treatment, focusing on adsorption, photocatalysis, membrane-based methods. It also discusses potential future applications, challenges, opportunities photocatalysis. Recently, have shown promise adsorbents biological-based systems, effectively removing metals that could hinder microbial activity. Cellulose-mediated successfully removed various wastewater, including dyes, oil, organic solvents, pesticides, Thus, PSA would support biological processes plants. A major concern discharge antibiotic wastes industries, posing environmental health risks. PSA-mediated bio-adsorbents, like clay polymeric hydrogel beads, efficiently remove antibiotics ensuring quality ecosystem balance. The successful use bio-adsorbents depends ongoing research optimize application evaluate impacts. Implementing these eco-friendly large scale holds great significantly reducing pollution, safeguarding ecosystems, protecting human health.
