The water reuse system in a petrochemical and polyester integrated industry Zhejiang, designed to handle industrial circular sewage, had capacity of 1600 m3/h. employed process comprising high-efficiency sedimentation tank, V-shaped filter, aerated biological ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis. tank's mud drainage, along with pretreatment through the filter (BAF), ultrafiltration system, resulted an overall recovery rate 70 %. Actual operational results indicated removal rates exceeding % for chemical oxygen demand (COD) 94 chloride ions. effluent COD ≤ 20 mg/L, ion concentration 50 conductivity μS/cm. Given high use domestically produced membranes, direct cost amounted mere 6.28 yuan/m3. This led reduction approximately 9.67 million tons wastewater discharged annually, fulfilling objective recycling sewage reuse.

Efficient removal of free and glycosylated volatile phenols from smoke tainted wine remains a significant challenge for winemakers. The partitioning their glycoconjugates (as taint markers) by ultrafiltration (UF) nanofiltration (NF) membranes was evaluated. While the phenol content permeate derived NF UF were comparable to that untreated wine, progressively concentrated in retentate as membrane molecular weight cut-off decreased. Three wines subsequently fractionated resulting eluted through column packed with adsorbent resin. Volatile removed varying degrees (37-100 %), but carried-over one next, despite resin regeneration. Resin saturation occurred earlier than phenols, i.e., after elution 15 vs >100 bed volumes permeate. This study provides insight into potential filtration help ameliorate wines.
