As the demand for materials continues to increase and building lifespans shorten, construction industry faces mounting pressure reduce its material environmental impacts. Mismanagement of demolition waste (CDW) can have severe consequences. To address this, recovery circular economy approaches offer significant potential reducing through sustainable use resources. Existing models that prioritize recycling reuse efforts demonstrate a sustained commitment supporting practices in sector. The goal is minimize production, which poses challenges such as raw shortages sustainability concerns. Using Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses statement recruiting relevant literature, this mini review aims identify obstacles implementing industry, while exploring opportunities circularity. ultimate aim facilitate fair smooth transition towards development, addressing environmental, social economic barriers. A more approach management be attained by considering all aspects CDW cycle, resulting benefits environment society whole.

The management of construction and demolition waste (CDW) is emerging as a significant global challenge. Traditional methods such direct landfill incineration fail to handle the vast amount CDW properly, resulting in serious social environmental issues. In this context, industry has increasingly recognized importance recycling recovery. Consequently, leaders are advocating for development reverse logistics networks multiple types by solving multi-objective mixed-integer linear programming model, which aims restore new structures toward circular economy. This model reduces maximizes value CDW, while minimizing total cost negative impact integrating with government under uncertainties encourage sustainable CDW. A real-world case study from Hong Kong conducted examine validate practicability proposed model. Experimental results show that transportation activities have on network design since they costly generate largest share carbon emissions. addition, regulatory mechanism, i.e., setting emission caps, proves effective balancing facility workload improving utilization underutilized facilities. also indicate capable adapting scenarios prioritizing facilities higher operational costs but lower expenses.
