The present study examines the performance and emission characteristics of a diesel engine using Diesel-Jatropha bio-diesel blends with ethylene glycol diacetate (EGDA) as an oxygenated additive. Various DB97ED3, DB94ED6, DB91ED9 were tested under various loading conditions, results compared to pure (D100) diesel-biodiesel (DB) blends. inclusion EGDA enhanced brake thermal efficiency (BTE), especially at higher loads, DB97ED3 depicting 12.4% rise in BTE overload condition DB. Specific fuel consumption (SFC) found decreasing load, showing lowest SFC medium loads. CO emissions has shown significant drop EGDA, by 39% full load D100. HC also reduced owing combustion kinetics from oxygen-rich EGDA. However, NOx controlled lowered peak temperatures, resulting more uniform combustion. best while results.
