From 2020 to today, considerable knowledge on SARS-CoV-2 has been collected, even pregnant women and their fetuses newborns, clinical guidelines have written implemented worldwide. Vaccination considerably improved outcomes, but hesitancy amongst patients the emergence of variants remain challenging, positivity during pregnancy continues be associated with an increased risk maternal complications, premature delivery, higher neonatal mortality morbidity. A body data now exists effect early medical education in obstetrics pediatrics, longer-term developmental outcomes. This review aimed present important findings outcomes health recommendations for neonate born from a SARS-CoV-2-positive mother order summarize effective preventive healthcare guidelines.

Abstract Objectives We aimed to determine the frequency of SARS-CoV-2 positivity in newborns born mothers with peripartum infection a German cohort, identify potential risk factors associated neonatal infection, and present short-term outcomes vertical transmission SARS-CoV-2. Methods Data on women occurring anytime during their pregnancy was gathered prospectively within CRONOS registry. From April 2020 February 2023 total 8,540 had been registered. The timing probability mother-to-child neonates perinatal were classified using WHO classification system. severity maternal vaccination status, type dominant virus, outcome parameters analyzed as for infection. Results 6.3 % resp. 42.9 tested stillbirths positive. 2.1 confirmed possible identified. Severe COVID-19 (odds ratio 4.4, 95 confidence interval 1.8–11.1) Delta virus (OR 3.2, 1.4–7.7) Newborns or significantly more often admitted NICU (65.2 vs. 27.5 non, p<0.001). Conclusions rate higher our cohort than previously reported, infections rare. Our data emphasizes confirmative testing should be performed infected an underlying pathology leading admission.

Abstract Background Working as a pregnant clinical nurse might experience range of challenges, such significant anatomical and physiological changes well emotional cognitive changes. That be particularly obvious under the historical background coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. However, dearth studies has explored experiences working during this special period. This study aimed to explore while COVID-19 Methods A descriptive qualitative design was selected. Purposive sampling, combined with maximum variation strategy snowball were utilized identify select participants from tertiary-teaching hospitals, specialized community hospitals in Zhejiang Province, southeastern China. Online semi-structured individual interviews used collect data, conventional content analysis analyze data. Results Eleven Chinese nurses mean age 31.8 years, ranging 26 40 participated study. Four themes twelve subthemes emerged: (1) still adhering work despite being pandemic; (2) pregnancy pandemic is an ordinary nurse; (3) staying life phase mother; (4) growth gains mother. Conclusion The suffered various difficulties Managers, occupational health other system leaders, policymakers should aware importance establishing environment that guarantees safe continued pregnancy. Future focus on establishment specific guidelines manuals regarding how worked, development self-protection interventions Moreover, research moral stigma bullying nursing deserves further exploration. This umbrella review synthesizes and discusses systematic reviews (SRs) meta-analyses (MAs) on auditory outcomes associated with COVID-19 infection vaccination side effects. It is innovative in offering a comprehensive synthesis of evidence across adults infants while summarizing vaccine-related literature search followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses 2020 guidelines, no restrictions population age or symptom severity. Four electronic databases were searched from their inception to October 2024. The Assessment Multiple 2 checklist Risk Bias tool used assess quality risk bias. identified 534 articles, narrowed down 14 SRs following full-text review: Nine focused COVID-19; two, born mothers infected during pregnancy; three, effects vaccination. A random-effects model revealed significantly high pooled estimates hearing loss (5.0%, 95% CI [1.0, 9.0], p < .012, three MAs, N = 21,932) tinnitus (13.5%, [5.9, 21.1], ≤ .001, four 36,236) adults. However, current nonhospitalized patients indicates that symptoms often improve after recovery. Studies also show low rate whose contracted pregnancy. Similarly, whereas has been linked tinnitus, these are rare, most experience improvement within weeks months. Evidence suggests adults, although remain rare newborns caution warranted due limitations variability studies.

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness caused by SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute syndrome coronavirus 2). The pandemic potential of the virus along with its severity posed threat to all individuals particularly pregnant women. Multiple studies suggested possibility vertical transmission COVID-19 variable findings. Aim: This study aims assess frequency and identify maternal neonatal complications. Materials Methods: A retrospective 17 months for women attending delivery who tested positive using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) (n = 80) their neonates 81) were both SARS-CoV2 PCR viral IgG IgM antibodies detection immunochromatography. matched control group negative mothers 51) was included. All testing done within 24– 48 hours, immediately completely separated from as per hospital policy. Results: total 263 included in study. Out 80 mothers, 4 (5%) had one (1.3%) neonates. commonest presentation cough (11.4%) dyspnea (10%). In addition, need ICU admission antibiotics usage significantly higher (p value 0.042, 0.003 respectively). On other hand, risk low birth weight NICU < 0.001). Conclusion: study, unique infection protocol managing PCR-positive use immunological neonates, provides evidence in-utero transmission, interpretation results should be conjunction WHO categorization timing mother-to-fetal transmission. A December 2023 COVID-19 outbreak in Southeast Asia prompted an update on Malaysia's existing understanding of and pregnancy. Research suggests that increases the risk adverse maternal perinatal outcomes. Pregnant women are more susceptible to due physiological changes coagulation, immune, respiratory, cardiovascular systems during Evidence indicates pregnant patients at increased for severe illness intensive care unit (ICU) admission. Stillbirth, neonatal death, preterm labour some most often reported foetal Data shows vertical transmission is possible but rare. Currently, vaccination remains effective safest strategy protecting groups from illness, complications, death. Although Malaysia has no plans reinstate its movement control order, following a sharp rise cases across country, Ministry Health (MOH) prepared five-point as well updated Management Guidelines, including therapeutic management with COVID-19. The MOH encourages safe public practices general measures vaccinations, wearing masks, maintaining hand hygiene.
