Despite undeniable advances in modern medicine, lung cancer still has high morbidity and mortality rates. Lung is preventable treatable, it important to identify new risk factors for cancer, especially those that can be treated or reversed. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) a very common sleep-breathing disorder grossly underestimated clinical practice. It cause, exacerbate, worsen adverse outcomes, including death various diseases, but its relationship with unclear. A possible causal between OSA the onset progression of been established biologically. The pathophysiological processes associated OSA, such as fragmentation, intermittent hypoxia, increased sympathetic nervous excitation, may affect normal neuroendocrine regulation, impair immune function (especially innate cellular immunity), ultimately contribute occurrence accelerate progression, induce treatment resistance. contributor cause cancer. Abstract: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) exerts a severe toll on human health and the economy, with high prevalence mortality rates. The search for bioactive components effective in treatment of COPD has become focal point research. Beetroot juice, readily accessible cost-effective, is noted its ability to enhance athletic performance preventive therapeutic impact hypertension. juice rich source dietary nitrates modulates physiological processes via nitrate-nitrite- nitric oxide pathway, exerting multiple beneficial effects such as antihypertensive, bronchodilatory, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, hypoglycemic, lipid-lowering actions. This paper provides review existing research beetroot COPD, summarizing potential enhancing exercise capacity, lowering blood pressure, improving vascular function, ameliorating sleep quality among patients COPD. serves reference prospective use symptomatic improvement well prevention exacerbations associated comorbidities. Aim To develop and validate a risk prediction model for estimating the likelihood of insomnia in patients with acute exacerbations chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). Methods This prospective study enrolled 253 AECOPD treated at Department Respiratory Critical Care Medicine, Chaohu Hospital Affiliated Anhui Medical University, between September 2022 April 2024. Patients were randomly assigned to training set testing 7:3 ratio. Least Absolute Shrinkage Selection Operator (LASSO) regression analysis was conducted identify factors associated AECOPD. A nomogram constructed based on four identified variables visualize model. Model validation involved Hosmer-Lemeshow test, its performance assessed through receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, calibration decision curve (DCA). interpretability further enhanced using SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP). Results PSQI grade, marital status (widowed), white blood cell (WBC) count, eosinophil percentage (EOS%) as significant predictors The these exhibited excellent predictive performance, areas under ROC (AUCs) 0.987 0.933 sets, respectively. curves test demonstrated strong agreement predicted observed outcomes, while DCA confirmed model’s superior clinical utility. Conclusion established estimate probability accuracy applicability, offering valuable guidance early identification management this population.

Background Due to the unique nature of their work, construction workers are prone mental health problems. However, few studies in China have explored relationship between psychological variables about them. Objective The purpose this study was explore occupational stress and depression analyze mediating role sleep disorders anxiety. Methods A stratified cluster sampling method randomly selected 1871 Chongqing, China. survey conducted as a questionnaire. SPSS 25.0 software used for data analysis statistical description. PROCESS macro version 4.0 chained mediation effect test. Results detection rates stress, disorders, anxiety, among were 26.4%, 89.8%, 30.2%, 18.7%, respectively. Analysis showed that these factors positively correlated with each other. Mediation directly influenced (β = 0.156, p < 0.001) also had an indirect through respective effects 4.48% 47.93%. Sleep anxiety played chain-mediating depression, 3.69%. Conclusions Occupational affects indirectly These results indicate reducing may be effective preventing depression.

Sleep disorder is a common comorbidity in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We aim to explore the potential association between daily sitting time (DST), leisure-time physical activity (LTPA) and sleep disorders COPD patients. The sleep, LTPA, DST data of participants with were extracted from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) portal (2007-2012), basing on Global Physical Activity Questionnaire. t-test, Mann-Whitney test, or chi-square test employed analyze differences two groups. weighted binomial logistic regression model was used estimate odds ratio (OR) 95% confidence interval (CI) LTPA disorders. analyses conducted April 1 July 1, 2023. A total 2063 samples included this work, which 58% had < 150 min/wk 48% > 6h. Patients longer sedentary (DST 6h: 151, 8h: 105) less (LTPA 150min/wk: 185). Longer correlated higher risk disorders, while showed no significant correlation conjoint analysis revealed that patients <150 8h 5.88 times (95% CI: 1.80-19.2) great than LTPA≥150 4h. often lacked exhibited behaviors. Long-term behavior associated elevated More light intensity supervised exercise programs are probably good choices prevent population.
