Abstract Background The associations between trajectories of different health conditions and cognitive impairment among older adults were unknown. Our cohort study aimed to investigate the impact various trajectories, including sleep disturbances, depressive symptoms, functional limitations, multimorbidity, on subsequent risk impairment. Methods We conducted a prospective by using eight waves national data from Health Retirement Study (HRS 2002–2018), involving 4319 aged 60 years or in USA. Sleep disturbances symptoms measured Jenkins Scale Centers for Epidemiologic Research Depression (CES-D) scale, respectively. Functional limitations assessed activities daily living (ADLs) instrumental (IADLs), Multimorbidity status was self-reporting physician-diagnosed diseases. identified 8-year at four examinations 2002 2010 latent class trajectory modeling. screened participants 27-point HRS scale 2018 across waves. calculated hazard ratios (HR) Cox proportional models. Results During 25,914 person-years, 1230 developed In fully adjusted model 3, ADLs not associated with Compared low trajectory, we found that increasing (HR = 1.39; 95% CI 1.17–1.65), IADLs 1.88; 1.43–2.46), high multimorbidity 1.48; 1.16–1.88) all posed an elevated higher urban areas 2.30; 1.65–3.21) those who smoked 2.77; 1.91–4.02) (all P interaction < 0.05). Conclusions results suggest tracking functioning may be potential feasible screening method identifying

Subjective cognitive complaints (SCC) are the earliest symptom of Alzheimer's disease (AD) progression. Increasing evidence shows an association between poor sleep quality and SCC, but current conclusions regarding SCC in older adults contradictory. Here, we aimed to explore correlation with among without dementia living nursing home community China. A cross-sectional survey on psychosomatic health was conducted Guangdong, China, November 2020 March 2021. Socio-demographic, health-related information, psychological factors, participants were evaluated through a face-to-face interview. 9-item Cognitive Decline Questionnaire (SCD-Q9) used measure SCC; SCD-Q9 > 3 defined as SCC. The Chinese version Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) evaluate quality; PSQI 7 quality. relationship using logistics regression analysis. study involved 730 (mean age 74.14 ± 8.246 years). total prevalence 59.59%. group had than reference (p < 0.05). Adjusted multiple logistic analysis revealed (OR = 1.841; 95% CI, 1.267-2.647; p 0.001) after controlling for age, sex, residence, education level, marital status, income, smoking, alcohol consumption, tea drinking, multimorbidity, waist circumference, napping duration, anxiety symptoms, depression symptoms. Hierarchical showed 2.872; CI: 1.787-4.615; 0.001), not residents 0.845; 0.437-1.637; 0.619). Poor is associated adults. Therefore, medical staff should take measures, such earlier intervention, postpone decline adults, meantime, management treatment disorders be taken into consideration.

Objectives: To investigate associations between multimorbidity, socio-demographic and health behaviour factors, their interactions (multimorbidity these factors) with all-cause mortality among Thai adults. Methods: Associations multimorbidity (coexistence of two + chronic diseases) 2005 2019 were investigated Cohort Study (TCS) participants (n = 87,151). Kaplan-Meier survival curves estimated compared times. Multivariate Cox proportional hazards models examined risk survival. Results: 1,958 cohort members died 2019. The death was 43% higher for multimorbid people. In multivariate hazard models, multimorbidity/number conditions, age, long sleep duration, smoking drinking all independent factors that increased risk. Women, urbanizers, university education, over 20,000-baht personal monthly income soybean products consumption lowered variables (except female, urbanizers soybeans intake) also had significant (p < 0.05) impact on mortality. Conclusion: results emphasise the importance healthy lifestyle reduced intake alcohol tobacco, in reducing premature mortality, especially when suffering from multimorbidity.
