Abstract Objective This study aims to further clarify the association between Screen-Based Sedentary Behavior (SSB) and sleep quality, explore effects of short-term melatonin supplementation on quality college students with high-frequency screen-based sedentary behavior. Methods The is divided into two phases. Phase one a cross-sectional involving 104 students, where we assessed relationship SSB in as well differences among varying frequencies SSB. In phase two, 40 participants were recruited from those screened participate intervention experiment, utilizing 2x2 factorial experimental design: (HM, n = 10), placebo (HP, low-frequency (LM, (LP, 10). Measurement indicators included PSQI scores, duration, bedtime, wake-up time, latency, efficiency evaluate improvements after melatonin/placebo interventions. Results results indicated significant correlation scores (r 0.845, P < 0.01), duration (r=-0.66, bedtime 0.76, 0.734, 0.01). There was difference groups (P 0.001). intervention, HM group showed Additionally, there no related variables HM, LM, LP post-intervention. Conclusions higher associated poorer quality. can be significantly improved through supplementation, indicating potential beneficial effect this population.

Summary Inadequate sleep in older adults is linked to health issues such as frailty, cognitive impairment and cardiovascular disorders. Maintaining regular patterns important for healthy aging, making effective monitoring essential. While polysomnography the gold‐standard diagnosing disorders, its use home settings limited. Alternative objective methods can offer insights into natural factors affecting them without limitations of polysomnography. This scoping review aims examine current technologies, sensors parameters used home‐based adults. It also explore various predictors outcomes associated with understand at home. We identified 54 relevant articles using PubMed, Scopus, Web Science an AI tool (Research Rabbit), 48 studies wearable technologies eight non‐wearable technologies. Further, six types were utilized. The most common technology employed was actigraphy wearables, while ballistocardiography electroencephalography less common. frequent measured total time, wakeup after onset efficiency, only evaluating architecture terms stages. Additionally, categories analysed, including Health‐related, Environmental, Interventional, Behavioural, Time Place, Social associations. These associations correlate include in‐bed behaviours, exterior housing conditions, aerobic exercise, living place, relationship status, seasonal thermal environments.

Background: Cyberbullying and nighttime phone use are independently detrimental to sleep psychological wellbeing, but whether in combination they might be more disruptive remains unknown. Methods: Students aged 7–19 years (N = 53,734) completed a survey measuring duration, use, cyberbullying, distress. Results: Across stratification variables of gender (F/M) age group (primary/secondary-school-aged children), bivariate ordered probit regression revealed that being cyberbullied were independent predictors both increased distress obtaining <8 h sleep. Nighttime was observed moderate the relationship between cyberbullying primary- secondary-school-aged girls boys and, likewise, distress, especially boys. Notably, moderation effect such impact lower children who compared with those not cyberbullied. This may ceiling due high number reporting shortened higher levels Discussion: The present findings point possible role as moderator on wellbeing. There is need for future studies better explore directly effects during nighttime.

Sleep difficulties in youth have been associated with numerous negative outcomes, such as higher risk of obesity. Though the relationship between sleep and obesity is not well clarified, past research has shown that modifiable health behaviors, diet, physical activity, screen time, may explain this relationship. The purpose study was to simultaneously examine these behaviors mediators insomnia severity among a sample adolescents aged 12-18 years.

Background It is recommended that children should avoid eating dinner, being physically active, or using screens in the hour before bed to ensure good sleep health. However, evidence base behind these guidelines weak and limited cross-sectional studies questionnaires. Objective The aim of this randomized crossover trial was use objective measures experimentally determine whether recommendations improve by banning electronic media, physical activity, food intake bed, impact quantity quality youth. Methods After a baseline week assess usual behavior, 72 (10-14.9 years old) will be four conditions, which are (1) all 3 behaviors, (2) for at least 30 minutes, (3) active (4) eat large meal, during on days 5 7 weeks 2 5. Families can choose they undertake intervention, but must same each intervention week. Guidance how provided. Interventions only undertaken school term known changes holidays. Intervention adherence shuteye latency (time from getting into until attempting sleep) measured wearable stationary PatrolEyes video cameras (StuntCams). Sleep (total time, onset, wake after onset) actigraphy (baseline, week). Mixed effects regression models with random effect participants used estimate mean differences (95% CI) conditions 4 compared condition 1. Results Recruitment started March 2024, anticipated finish April 2025. Following data analysis, we expect results available later 2026. Conclusions Using measures, able establish if causal relationships exist between prebedtime behaviors children. Such information critical appropriate achievable guidelines. College students often experience sleep-wake alterations. Different factors can contribute to insomnia symptoms in this population. The present study aims at investigating pre-sleep behaviours and strategies used aid sleep onset young college their association with symptoms. A total of 548 Italian (mean age = 23.48 years, range 19-30 80.5% female) completed a web-based survey on sleep-onset facilitators, hygiene, anxiety depression, coping strategies. use electronic devices bedtime as facilitator was predominant. Students using specific facilitators were characterised by more psychological difficulties poorer sleep. In multivariable linear regression analysis, the frequency medications melatonin, regardless motivations, associated higher positively correlated severity Many engage that are considered sleep-interfering employed an attempt facilitate without benefits. Overall, motivational behind need be addressed preventive programs targeting students.
