Abstract Objective This study aims to further clarify the association between Screen-Based Sedentary Behavior (SSB) and sleep quality, explore effects of short-term melatonin supplementation on quality college students with high-frequency screen-based sedentary behavior. Methods The is divided into two phases. Phase one a cross-sectional involving 104 students, where we assessed relationship SSB in as well differences among varying frequencies SSB. In phase two, 40 participants were recruited from those screened participate intervention experiment, utilizing 2x2 factorial experimental design: (HM, n = 10), placebo (HP, low-frequency (LM, (LP, 10). Measurement indicators included PSQI scores, duration, bedtime, wake-up time, latency, efficiency evaluate improvements after melatonin/placebo interventions. Results results indicated significant correlation scores (r 0.845, P < 0.01), duration (r=-0.66, bedtime 0.76, 0.734, 0.01). There was difference groups (P 0.001). intervention, HM group showed Additionally, there no related variables HM, LM, LP post-intervention. Conclusions higher associated poorer quality. can be significantly improved through supplementation, indicating potential beneficial effect this population.

Gaming is a global phenomenon often associated with impaired health and sleep patterns. Although the research activities are growing, evidence to date rare due various gaming titles inconsistent study designs. Thus, this aimed examine impact of excessive in evening on subjective as well objective parameters by focusing specific game assessing several evenings/nights using mixed-methods approach. A total 33 experienced young male adults (23.00 ± 3.53 years old, ranked players League Legends or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive) took part. The individuals' were assessed via diary actigraphy. In randomized order, one week apart for duration 120 min each, two evenings spent gaming, while other without digital media but instead watching nature documentary. No significant difference between conditions found (p > 0.05) either nor quality. Daytime sleepiness was significantly increased after documentary movie, when compared < 0.001). These results indicate that, hand, activity leads higher arousal alertness it requires concentration dedication. On seems only short-term does not necessarily affect Future studies needed gain deeper insights, especially regarding long-term effects gaming.
