The accurate detection and reliable performance of chipless radio frequency identification (RFID) tags sensors present significant challenges due to their inherently low radar cross section (RCS) pronounced mutual coupling effects. These limitations adversely influence the quality (Q) factor overall detectability, complicating optimisation RFID systems for practical applications. This study investigates characteristics trade-offs among RCS, Q-factor, detectability in Pi-shaped array configurations tags. A comprehensive analysis various is conducted, supplemented by a link budget evaluation elucidate how different structures impact system performance. simulation results reveal that planar arrays outperform linear both RCS highlighting essential between tag range angular coverage, which are influenced size electromagnetic coupling. findings emphasise optimising resonance scattering efficiency tailor specific application requirements. research provides valuable insights into design operation arrays, contributing advancement
