The
field
of
gas
sensors
has
been
developing
for
the
last
year
due
to
necessity
characterizing
compounds
and,
in
particular,
volatile
organic
whose
detection
can
be
special
interest
a
vast
range
applications
that
extend
from
clinical
evaluation
environmental
monitoring.
Among
all
potential
techniques
develop
sensors,
magnetron
sputtering
emerged
as
one
most
suitable
methodologies
production
large-scale
uniform
coatings,
with
high
packing
density
and
strong
adhesion
substrate
at
relatively
low
temperatures.
Furthermore,
it
presents
elevated
deposition
rates,
allows
growth
thin
films
purity,
permits
precise
control
film
thickness,
enables
simple
manufacturing
power
consumption
consequently,
costs
involved
production.
This
work
reviewed
current
developed
through
VOCs
assessment
by
gathering
relevant
scientific
works
published.

future

state-of-the-art

The
efficient
detection
of
n-butanol,
which
is
in
demand
for
highly
sensitive
materials,
essential
multiple
applications.
A
nonaqueous
method
was
applied
to
prepare
NiFe2O4
nanoparticles
(NPs)
using
benzyl
alcohol
as
a
solvent,
shows
size
7.9
±
1.6
nm
and
large
surface
area
82.23
m2/g.
To
further
improve
the
sensing
performance
Pd/PdO
functionalization
sensitized
with
NPs.
Gas
results
demonstrate
that
Pd/PdO-NiFe2O4
exhibits
an
enhanced
response
36.9
300
ppm
n-butanol
fast
recovery
time
(18.2/17.6
s)
at
260
°C.
Furthermore,
Pd/PdO-NiFe2O4-based
sensor
possesses
good
linear
relationship
between
responses
concentration
from

ppm,
great
selectivity
against
other
volatile
organic
compounds
(VOCs).
