Abstract One year after the outbreak of COVID-19, medical staff are facing high anxiety due to multiple work stresses. Social support has become a protective factor for healthcare workers' symptoms, but exact mechanism action is not yet known. Based on buffering model, this study aims explore impact and mechanisms perception social (PSS) symptoms in context epidemic further how emotional characteristics risk (ECRP) resilience play their influence. To end, measured 839 workers using an online questionnaire from 4 February 1 March 2021. The results found that PSS among negatively predicted symptoms. ECRP partially mediated relationship between moderated first half pathway model through COVID-19 individuals with decrease significantly increase PSS, while change significant low resilience.

Since COVID-19 vaccine uptake was found to be especially low among young adults, the present study investigated risk perception as predictor of vaccination intention and actual this age group. More specifically, it tested whether cognitive predicts successively via affective intention. In total, 680 students (65.9% female) between 17 28 years participated in longitudinal online study. perception, intention, were measured t1: November/December 2020, t2: March 2021, t3: June/July respectively. The mediation analysis revealed a significant indirect effect perceived severity at t1 on t3 worry t2. Stronger perceptions related more about COVID-19, which led higher which, turn, increased chance uptake. To increase adults might fruitful emphasize COVID-19. However, one should take into account that tapping fear works best when messages also include efficacy statements.

Abstract In the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, non-pharmaceutical protective measures taken by individuals remain pivotal. This study aims to explore what motivates engage in such measures. Based on existing empirical findings as well prominent behavioural theories, a partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) of predictors for pandemic behaviour was estimated using representative German sample ( n = 437). Abstract Background People’s perceived risk of being infected and having severe illness was conceived as a motivational source adherence to behavioral measures during the COVID-19 crisis. Methods We used online self-reported data, spanning 20 months crisis in Belgium ( n = 221,791; 34.4% vaccinated; July 2020 - March 2022) study association between perception motivation. Results Both infection probability severity fluctuated across time function characteristics emerging variants, with unvaccinated persons perceiving decreasingly less compared vaccinated ones. Perceived (and not probability) most critical predictor autonomous motivation for health-protective measures, pattern observed at both between-day between-person level among individuals. An integrated process model further indicated that on days higher hospitalization load, participants reported more adherent because were elevated these days. Conclusions These findings suggest served dynamic resource it fostered greater regulation.

Climate change is occurring more rapidly than expected, requiring that people quickly and continually adapt to reduce human suffering. The reality climate change-related threats are unpredictable; thus, adaptive behavior must be performed even when threat saliency decreases (e.g. time has passed since climate-hazard exposure). also intensifying; new or behaviors over time. Many people have worried about COVID-19 infection, job loss, income reduction, and family conflict during the pandemic. Some social groups may be particularly vulnerable due to their residential neighborhoods daily activities. On other hand, people's exposure greenspace offers promising pathways for reducing these worries associated with COVID-19. Using data collected a questionnaire two-day activity diary from two typical in Hong Kong, this study examines how housing conditions affect perceived risk distress (i.e., conflict) First, compares based on neighborhoods. Further, it associations between using ordinal logistic regression models. The results indicate that living high-risk neighborhood, being married, renting unit, large household are significantly higher neighborhood-based In addition, also reported lower mobility-based when compared risk, while they still high occupational venues if work district (e.g., Kowloon). Lastly, woodland) could reduce distress. These important implications public health authority formulating measures
