An optimal sizing of an off-grid microgrid system composed photovoltaic (PV)/building integrated (BIPV)/battery energy storage installation is undergone for Net Zero Energy Residential Building blocks across six different climates Morocco in order to reach the objective providing all load requirements at minimum. The Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm used find system, by considering hourly spatiotemporal variations both solar availability and demand variation, with lowest Total Annualized Cost as function capacities BIPV battery decision variables. methodology adopted focuses on main fulfillment through direct PV power supply, backed technology, continually guarantee self-sufficiency. A key metric, cover factor, introduced quantify ratio which satisfied systems. findings show that can help improve factor 0.68-2.58%. Moreover, integrating Battery leads a reduction Levelized approximately 8.7-20.72 %, opposed utilizing only battery. Depending local climate, levelized cost ranges from 0.366 $/kWh Ouarzazate city up 0.664 $/kWh.in Ifrane city. Lastly, this holistic approach aims transform building its traditional role consumer carbon-free electricity generator.

While the implementation of sustainable urban planning has proven to be one primary goals reduce climate change impact, rapid adoption nearly Zero Energy Buildings (nZEB) concept in building sector is inevitable reach that objective. Following this trend, article focuses on a parametric digital workflow evaluate energy performance zero high-rise 23-storey office climatic and contexts Casablanca at early design stage. In scope our study, Grasshopper-based permits us investigate impact 147 designs, which are generated by varying building's shape factor orientation thermal cooling heating demand global solar production. The outcomes holistic methodology highlight trade-offs between efficiency strategies building-integrated photovoltaic (bipv) (pv) systems, aiming optimized nZEB. Moreover, results study suggest it possible an annual load match equivalent 29.7%. findings also underscore significant role BIPV systems shifting towards goal net energy, accounting for up 64.43 % total output contributing 17.62 yearly self-sufficiency. addition, balance evaluation, when assessed hourly basis, reveals system significantly improves daily cover factor, achieving value 12.45%, increases 20.62 considering rooftop PV, particularly during spring season. Finally, capacity credit improved 31.27 %, share grid connection reduction compared same relying totally its needs.

As societies are shifting toward carbon neutral environments, they beginning to account for their emissions. One of the primary contributors greenhouse gas emissions and global warming is building industry; therefore, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) one instruments that allows an assessment energy energy-related environmental impacts buildings from cradle grave, according ISO 14040. In this context, aim research study assess dioxide (LC ) over a 50-year-lifespan zero-carbon solar-powered earth-based building, built with carbon-free adobe bricks, in hot semi-arid climate Morocco. While on equivalent () across life cycle crucial determine energy-intensive stages, looks into tendencies arising during cradle-to-gate embodied (A1-3) operational phases (B6) Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) case study, which should be offset by order abide ZCB definition.
