Abstract. The anticipated increase in solar energy production West Africa requires high-quality radiation estimates, which is affected by meteorological conditions and particular the presence of desert dust aerosols. This study examines impact incorporating into surface temperature estimations. research focuses on a case event March 2021, characteristic dry season Africa. Significant aerosol emissions at Bodélé depression are associated with Harmattan flow that transports plume westwards. Simulations this were conducted using WRF model alone, as well coupled CHIMERE chemistry-transport model, three different datasets for initial boundary (CAMS, GOCART, MERRA2). Results show considering reduces estimation errors global horizontal irradiance (GHI) about 75 %. caused an average 18 % reduction during event. Additionally, simulations indicated positive bias optical depth (AOD) PM10 concentrations. choice dataset minimally influenced GHI, temperature, AOD whereas concentrations size distribution significantly affected. underscores importance aerosols forecasting better accuracy.
