Abstract Life can’t sustain without water. Sustainable development goal (SDG-6) emphasizes on access of suitable quality water to all. The amount available freshwater earth is very low and declining further. Human health, life environment can be severely affected by the rising scarcity. Desalination most widely adopted method meet global demand. However, adverse environmental impacts existing desalination techniques necessitate quest sustainable methods. Solar distillation used for production drinking in a economic manner. current work evaluates compares performance small size single double slope solar still under similar climatic conditions. Both stills are made galvanized iron sheet basin area 0.36 m 2 . productivity (SSSS) (DSSS) found 2.58 L/m 3.19 respectively. yield observed 23.7 % higher than that still. Hence, exhibit better performance.
