Purpose This study aims to evaluate the individual effects of 6 February 2023 Kahramanmaras-centered earthquakes on healthcare workers. Design/methodology/approach The population this qualitative consists professionals who volunteered work in field following Kahramanmaras earthquakes, and sample 10 provided services first 72 h. data were obtained through in-depth interviews using a previously prepared semi-structured form. analyzed content analysis technique. Findings Four themes determined based their statements, which grouped under headings “positive effects,” “negative “professional effects” “expectations.” It was that workers experienced some negativities professional lives after earthquake as well positive experiences; these situations occurred form feeling more valuable earthquake, increasing awareness about learning consider events from perspective, exhibiting helpful attitudes behaviors, not postponing issues will make life meaningful strengthening bond they established with families. In terms achievements, it could achieve significant levels satisfaction, experience, team solidarity empathic approach. On other hand, concluded encountered economic physical challenges disasters increase psychosocial issues, including sleep disturbance, feelings inadequacy, worthlessness, powerlessness, withdrawal, claustrophobia loss meaning. Originality/value results achieved revealed even though disaster outcomes have negative professionals, experience gained is an important achievement for discipline. Therefore, by source planning can yield improvements next process. Moreover, support be given cope experiences very protecting human resources disasters. To level success health case disasters, future studies should integrate into management develop policies reduce consequences.
