The
20th
European
Meeting
on
Supercritical
Fluids
(EMSF
2024)
was
hosted
by
the
Faculty
of
Chemistry
and
Chemical
Engineering
University
Maribor
from
26
May
to
29
2024
in
Maribor,
Slovenia.
EMSF

Society
for
Advancement
(ISASF)
Federation
(EFCE)
Working
Party
High
Pressure
Technology
(WP
HPT)
Event
No.
807.
This
symposium
provided
an
excellent
opportunity
engineers,
chemists,
physicists,
food
technologists,
biologists
meet
discuss
new
ideas,
review
ongoing
challenges,

Supercritical
CO2,
known
for
its
non-toxic,
non-flammable
and
abundant
properties,
is
well-perceived
as
a
green
alternative
to
hazardous
organic
solvents.
It
has
attracted
considerable
interest
in
food,
pharmaceuticals,
chromatography,
catalysis
fields.
When
supercritical
CO2
integrated
into
microfluidic
systems,
it
offers
several
advantages
compared
conventional
macro-scale
reactors.
These
include
optical
transparency,
small
volume,
rapid
reaction,
precise
manipulation
of
fluids,

Moreover,
the
length

allows
production

nanoparticles
with
reduced
particle
size,

synthesis.
In
this
perspective,
we
review
investigations
involving
particular
focus
on
three
primary
applications,
namely,
solvent
extraction,
nanoparticle
synthesis,
chemical
reactions.
We
provide
summary
experimental
innovations,
key
mechanisms,
principle
findings
from
these
studies,
aiming
spark
further
interest.
Finally,
conclude
some
discussion
