Wastewater treatment is inevitably required to alleviate the pollution of water resources by various contaminants such as antibiotics. MOFs are novel materials with photocatalytic activities. In this study, sonophotocatalytic degradation tetracycline (TC) Cerium-based MOF (Ce-MOF) optimized modification its synthesis route. Ce-MOF room temperature (RT), hydrothermal (HT), and sonochemical (SC) studied. TC experiments revealed superiority SC synthesis. The interplay main parameters, namely, initial ligand concentration, ultrasound (US) power time on activity Ce-MOF, were investigated response surface methodology model (RSM) utilizing central composite experimental design (CCD). optimum conditions an concentration 8.4 mmol/L, a sonication 50 amplitude, US 60 min. optimally synthesized was characterized infrared spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, FE-SEM, TEM, zeta potential analysis, diffuse reflectance particle size Mott-Schottky photocurrent electrochemical impedance spectra, photoluminescence spectroscopy. findings indicate that removal efficiency can reach up 81.75% within 120 min in aqueous solution containing ppm 1 g/L at pH 7. Mineralization process 71% according COD measurements. catalyst retained chemical stability remained active upon which makes it promising candidate for wastewater treatment.
