Magnetic ferrite nanoparticles have a broad application in wastewater treatment, and the interest applying these particles specifically waste treatment is growing. However, gap understanding how properties that are controllable through synthesis methods affect efficiency needs to be better explained. In this review, we assess analysis of most impactful publications highlight nanoparticles’ different their parameters connected efficiency. For long time, were seen as adsorbents suitable for physically removing pollutants, but recent studies show nanostructures could UV visible light-induced photocatalytic decomposition contaminants.

Based on the magnetic sensitivity of Fe3O4 in various fields, we aimed to propose a one-step solvothermal process for synthesis single-phase induced by reaction medium and urea, avoiding high-temperature reduction H2 or N2 atmospheres. Feasibility was tested with purified water (H2O), methyl alcohol (MA), ethyl (EA), ethylene glycol (EG) as media. The findings indicated that system utilizing EA more effective cubic Fe3O4. Optimal conditions synthesizing pure were obtained optimizing urea amount parameters. optimal formulation consisted 10 mmol FeCl3, 80 60 mL subjected at 200 °C 12 h. resulting (magnetite, cubic) exhibited commendable crystallization morphology acicular aggregates displayed excellent properties magnetization 92.2 emu/g 15,000 Oe. photocatalytic degradation behaviors Methyl Orange, Orange G, Acid Red 37 azo dyes repeated performance dye investigated. Nearly complete occurred after 2.0 h reaction, while G achieved similar results 3.5 4.5 h, respectively. exploration strategy this work can be applied design fabricate other metal oxides composites, potentially novel discoveries performance.

This work investigated CoFe 2 O 4 @SiO ‐chitosan magnetic nanocomposites functionalized with chitosan, which served as an efficient adsorbent for the separation of trace lead (Pb(II)) and cadmium (Cd(II)) in water. The percentage contaminants extracted from solution has been measured through atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). Furthermore, pseudo‐first‐order pseudo‐second‐order kinetic models, along Freundlich Langmuir isotherm were applied to evaluate equilibrium data metal adsorption on adsorbents. demonstrated excellent properties high capacities 255.10 mg/g 236.41 ions. second‐order model exhibit most precise match. Results suggested that coordinative interaction amino groups chitosan ions was responsible occurrence chemisorption. efficiency after first cycle Pb(II) Cd(II) 93% 89%, respectively. adsorbents exhibited outstanding reliability, reusable values, good application performance, 82% 79% (Cd(II)), respectively, five cycles adsorption.
