The purpose of this research was to explore the reciprocal associations between teachers' grit, foreign language teaching enjoyment (FLTE), and work engagement using a cross-lagged panel design. In addition, role teacher self-efficacy as predictor in model also examined. A sample 786 English (FL) teachers were recruited participants. results analysis showed relations constructs. More gritty at first assessment point further FLTE second point. Also, who demonstrated Time 1 greater degrees 2. Furthermore, higher levels led grit Finally, positively predicated FLTE, just 1, revealing that failed significantly predict three latent constructs five months later.

Resilience and flow are crucial in language education, yet most research focuses on formal learning environments, with limited studies their impact informal settings. This study explores the relationship between basic psychological needs engagement context of digital English (IDLE). Using a mixed-methods design, data were collected from 512 Chinese EFL learners. Structural equation modeling NVivo analysis applied to quantitative qualitative data, respectively. The findings reveal that resilience fully mediates engagement, serving as an adaptability enhancer, persistence promoter, stress buffer, self-efficacy builder, emotional regulation facilitator. Conversely, partially this relationship, though perceived competence does not significantly predict context. Building this, contributes intrinsic motivation driver, positive cycle creator, external pressure mitigator, efficiency enhancer. underscores important role IDLE among university students. By highlighting these mediating roles, provides valuable insights for enhancing effectiveness experiences, contributing broader discourse education age.

Abstract L2 (second language) grit, an essential personal resource involving perseverance of effort and consistency interest, has been well documented via a variable-centred method. The current study employed latent profile analysis (LPA), person-centred approach, to identify the potential profiles moving beyond previous studies by recognizing student heterogeneity. Drawing on conservation resources (COR) theory, this also examined relationship between foreign language anxiety, achievement within identified grit. Three grit were disclosed, namely, “medium interest”, “great but weak interest”. facilitative function anxiety was realised only for those interest” profile, which interpreted as optimal configuration from lens COR theory. This generated insights future topic.

Introduction Given the significant role of work engagement teachers in educational contexts, some scholarly attention has been directed to exploring predictors this construct. Against backdrop, study aimed investigate teacher among Chinese English as a foreign language (EFL) by testing model that includes self-efficacy, reflection, and resilience. Methods To achieve goal, 512 EFL were invited participate an online survey, which consisted four questionnaires. The construct validity measures was confirmed through confirmatory factor analysis. Then, structural equation modeling utilized examine relationships between variables. Results findings indicated resilience direct engagement, self-efficacy had indirect effect on via reflection Similarly, also impact Discussion These results have important implications for education programs. significance these highlights importance fostering order promote their engagement. Abstract Since teacher work engagement is argued to substantially affect education quality and learners’ performance, unveiling the factors affecting of high significance. As an attempt explore antecedents this construct in English-as-a-foreign-language (EFL) teachers, we tested a structural model based on teachers’ professional identity, grit, foreign language teaching enjoyment. A sample 476 EFL teachers Iran was requested complete online survey constituting valid scales four constructs. Structural equation modeling (SEM) results indicated that fitted data sufficiently. The revealed enjoyment were direct correlates engagement. Additionally, identity affected indirectly via grit. Also, influenced through mediation We conclude our study with discussion implications findings.
