Drawing on the Language Mindset Meaning System (LMMS) framework, study investigated how language mindsets (growth vs. fixed) influence adoption of four achievement goals, and they subsequently shape second/foreign (L2) learners' emotions (i.e. enjoyment anxiety) in process learning English as a foreign (EFL) China. A total 413 Chinese university students participated questionnaire survey. Path analyses showed that growth mindset had strong positive impact moderate negative anxiety.
