Abstract The purpose of this paper is to explore the role GenAI (generative artificial intelligence) in EFL. Specifically, focuses on its impact learning motivation and outcome. With a total five hundred sixty-six students four Chinese university, questionnaire was shown be reliable valid. Research has revealed that strong effect EFL outcomes China; plays an important learners’ personalized learning, interest through timely feedback interactivity; can enhance learner’s English listening speaking skills, academic writing vocabulary expansion understanding English-speaking countries' culture. also personal factors such as grade, proficiency language environment which grew up have outcomes. research findings widens our student’s use intelligence second acquisition, reflect AI anxiety era information technology.

Drawing on the Language Mindset Meaning System (LMMS) framework, study investigated how language mindsets (growth vs. fixed) influence adoption of four achievement goals, and they subsequently shape second/foreign (L2) learners' emotions (i.e. enjoyment anxiety) in process learning English as a foreign (EFL) China. A total 413 Chinese university students participated questionnaire survey. Path analyses showed that growth mindset had strong positive impact moderate negative anxiety. Conversely, fixed effect Results also mastery-approach, mastery-avoidance performance-avoidance goals mediated relationship between two L2 emotions. These findings offer profound insights into intricate web relationships among mindsets, emotions, instantiating LMMS framework specific EFL context. hold practical implications for educational practitioners seeking to enhance emotional well-being.
