Purpose
Nowadays,
there
is
a
strong
public
interest
in
promoting
transparency
to
be
informed
about
the
actions
of
sector.
At
same
time,

been

society’s
perceptions

concerns
sustainable
development,

marked

In

our
main
objective
investigate
impact
practices
local
government
on
implementation
Sustainable
Development
Goals
(SDGs)
Spanish
municipalities.
Design/methodology/approach
We
will
analyse
sample
84
municipalities,
using
Dynamic
Transparency
Index
published
by
Dyntra
measure
transparency.
For

SDGs,
we
use
an
index
specifically
created
data
from
report
“The
SDGs
100
Cities”,
Network
for
2020.
Findings
Municipalities
larger
dependent
population
tend
achieve
higher
SDG
levels.

financial
surpluses
more
self-generated
resources
show
better
implementation.
Progressive
political
parties
lean
towards
sustainability,
coalition
governments
than
majority
governments.
Gender
appears
play
minor
role
implementation,

male
leadership
