While artificial intelligence has successful and innovative applications in common medicine, could its application facilitate research on rare diseases? This study explores the of (AI) orphan drug research, focusing how AI can address three major barriers: high financial risk, development complexity, low trialability. paper begins with an overview applications, defining key concepts providing a background regulatory framework AI’s role medical research. Next, it examines lower risks by streamlining discovery processes, analyzing complex data, predicting outcomes to improve our understanding diseases. then enhance clinical trials through simulations virtual trials, compensating for limited patient populations available disease Finally, discusses broader implications integrating development, emphasizing potential accelerate treatment success rates, highlights need ongoing innovation support maximize benefits AI-driven healthcare. Based those results, we discuss traditional AI-powered business industry.
