ABSTRACT
This
study

Abstract
This
study
uses
the
novel
Fourier-augmented
ARDL
(FARDL)
to
explore
impact
of
renewable
energy
(REN),
number
patent
applications
(PA)
and
GDP
per
capita
on
CO
2
emissions
in
Finland
during
1990–2022.
The
findings
reveal
that
long
run,
rises
emissions,
while
REN
PA
decrease
emissions.
FARDL
short-run
results
indicate
both
have
a
significant
negative
suggesting
higher
adoption
technological
innovation

reductions.

Abstract
The
Circular
Economy
(CE)
has
attracted
considerable
global
attention
as
a
key
strategy
for
sustainability,
waste
reduction
and
resource
efficiency.
This
review
systematically
analyses
more
than
160
peer-reviewed
articles
published
between
2020
2025
to
assess
CE
innovations,
implementation
challenges
policy
effectiveness
across
sectors.

reveal
that
technological
advances
(e.g.
AI,
blockchain,
IoT)
are
accelerating
the
adoption
of
CE,
but
regulatory
fragmentation
financial
barriers
hinder
large-scale
implementation.
Despite
