Additive Manufacturing (AM), commonly known as 3D printing, is emerging a transformative technology capable of reshaping industrial production through material efficiency, design freedom, and decentralized fabrication. However, the long-term sustainability AM challenged by significant concerns related to energy consumption, waste, limited recyclability polymers, metals, composites. This chapter evaluates environmental implications within framework circular economy, focusing on recycling strategies, lifecycle management. Real-world examples from aerospace automotive industries, such Airbus's use Ti6Al4V BMW's recycled thermoplastics, illustrate both opportunities constraints implementing sustainable at scale. The explores mechanical chemical methods, biodegradable alternatives, AI-driven process optimizations improve waste reduction performance.
