By applying the matching technique to a sample of Spanish tourism family firms, we analyze factors that describe competitive strategy, asset and ownership structure, managerial practices first-generation firms compared subsequent generations. The study aims to evaluate the factors influencing digital technology transformation in Taiwanese family companies. Data were obtained from nine experts with extensive expertise businesses and analyzed using TOPSIS approach. research findings identify twelve essential that influence provide best recommendations for organizations. identified four key elements deemed most critical of businesses: education training, technological complexity, advancements, management support. Purpose In the digital era, there is uncertainty about whether SMEs can enhance their organizational performance through technologies. are characterized by limited resources for investing in these technologies and depend significantly on employees' ideas to advance digitization efforts. Paradoxically, 80% failure rate transformation projects has raised concerns that employees, including managers, may be primarily responsible failures, with negative attitudes towards technology emerging as a fundamental driving force. Therefore, this paper aims examine mediating effect of employee-driven innovation relationship between orientation firm presence technostress. Purpose Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are a significant component of economic social development, but their digital transformation (DT) process has encountered tremendous obstacles. This study aims to apply the core idea empowerment theory explore influencing mechanism industrial design empowering DT SMEs from internal (IID) external (EID) dimensions. Design/methodology/approach The data for this were collected based on comprehensive questionnaire that was distributed 470 manufacturing-focused located in China, survey primarily disseminated by SME Bureau Industrial Culture Development Center Ministry Industry Information Technology. empirical analysis conducted using regression bootstrap method. Findings results demonstrated as following. First, EID higher positive impact than IID, innovation effect (DIE), resource allocation (RAE) market expansion (MEE) all have mediating effects. Second, IID is realized through DIE MEE, while mostly reflected direct effect. Third, negative interaction effects “depletion” occurs when both activities carried out simultaneously. Originality/value clarifies specific perspectives provides reference overcome barriers with help tools.
