Purpose This study aims to investigate the drivers of discontinuous usage among short-video consumers. More specifically, this explores whether three prominent information characteristics (i.e. narrowing, redundancy and overload) increase intention underlying mechanisms. Design/methodology/approach Drawing on stressor-strain-outcome (SSO) framework expectation disconfirmation theory (EDT), structural equation modeling was used test research model. Findings The results suggest that narrowing is a powerful antecedent social media fatigue (SMF), while overload are two strong antecedents dissatisfaction. findings also reveal increases Moreover, both SMF dissatisfaction have positive significant effect intention.
