Abstract Several crucial acceleration periods exist during aging process. Epigenetic clocks, serving as indicators of aging, are influenced by genetic factors. Investigating how the contributions on these clocks change with age may provide novel insights into In this study, based 1084 adult twins from Chinese National Twin Registry (CNTR), we established structural equation models (SEMs) to evaluate trends in influence for epigenetic which include PC‐Horvath, PC‐Hannum, PC‐PhenoAge, PC‐GrimAge, and DunedinPACE. A decline overall heritability was observed all five ages 31 70, a relatively stable trend at first. Subsequently, apart other four displayed more evident drop heritability: DunedinPACE PC‐PhenoAge experienced clear between 55 65 years, while PC‐Horvath PC‐Hannum showed similar decrease 60 70 years. contrast, PC‐GrimAge remained throughout. An analysis methylation sites (CpGs) identified 41, 26, 4, 36 CpG potentially underlying changes DunedinPACE, respectively. Data CNTR were collected through two surveys 2013 2018. Based 308 longitudinal data, declines components follow‐up compared baseline, significant decreases PC‐clocks. peaked 5‐year contribution 55–60, PC‐clocks consistently 50–55.
