Abstract The study aims to assess the concentrations of heavy metals in road dust from different land uses Aizawl, Mizoram, by implementing a methodology that includes descriptive statistics (mean, median, and standard deviation), one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient. Enrichment contamination factors were also determined identify sources level pollution area. health risks for children adults assessed based on established guidelines. From study, ranged as follows: Cr (18.19 36.28 mg/kg), Pb (20.64 27.12 Cd (-1 0.06 Ni (32.32 47.91 Cu (-0.51 32.49 Zn (30.80 119.84 mg/kg). highest concentration was found agricultural area (47.91 possibly due jhum cultivation practices. When compared with background values, levels lower, while Pb, Ni, exceeded values 94.66%, 41.47%, 228.54%, respectively, indicating anthropogenic activities. A ANOVA analysis showed significant difference metal across various use areas. Except ecological risk assessment indicated low risk. associated non-carcinogenic effects humans, especially children, other elements within safe levels. Proper management safety measures still needed improve environmental impact individuals living

The purpose of this study is to assess the presence heavy metals like Cu, Cd, Cr, Pb, Ni, As and Zn, in surface water samples, collected from Cerna River it’s main tributary, Hunedoara county. sources Hidrografic Reservoir are represented by industrial activities (especially steel industry) improperly storage waste, diffuse polution atmospheric depositions. metal content was determined atomic absorption spectrophotometry with atomization graphite furnace. Before de analysis, samples were treated nitric acid for metal’s mineralization. Ten tributary as it follows: flowing Mureș River, Sântuhalm, Cristur Pestis Petac Zlaști Teliucul Inferior Govâjdia Toplița Vălarița River. Depending on sampling point, measurable results following: Mureş (Cu - 10.1 μg/L, Cd 0.09 Cr 1.44 Pb 4.67 μg/L. Ni 1.38 2.43 μg/L); Sântuhalm 24,9 16,2 Zn 0.04 μg/L și 1.05 0.74 0.03 μg /L, 0.65 0.51 /L); Peștiș 2,78 0.68 0.54 8.03 1.61 0.12 1.73 3.0 0.06 0.64 0.37 0,85 1.31 3.68 0.25 5.3 1.82 3.26 0.55 0.66 0.92 2.07 0.63 1.25 μg/L; 1.06 2.44 1.97 0.76 2.68 5.05 2.44μg/L). show that analyzed there exceedances one exceedance; three two exceedance.
