Micro-
and
nano-plastics
(MNPs)
are
small
plastic
particles
that
result
from
the
breakdown
of
larger
plastics.
They
widely
dispersed
in
environment
pose
a
threat
to
wildlife
humans.
MNPs
present
almost
all
everyday
items,
including
food,
drinks,
household
products.
Air
inhalation
can
also
lead
exposure
MNPs.
Research
animals
indicates
once
absorbed,
they
spread
various
organs,
liver,
spleen,
heart,
lungs,
thymus,
reproductive
kidneys,
even
brain
by
crossing
blood–brain
barrier.
Furthermore,
MPs
transport
persistent
organic
pollutants
or
heavy
metals
invertebrates
higher
levels
food
chain.
When
ingested,
additives
monomers
comprise
disrupt
essential
biological
processes
human
body,
thereby
leading
disturbances
endocrine
immune
systems.
During
2019
coronavirus
(COVID-19)
pandemic,
there
was
significant
increase
global
use
polypropylene-based
face
masks,
insufficient
waste
management
exacerbating
pollution.
This
review
examines
existing
research
on
impact
MNP
lung
kidney
health
based
vitro
vivo
studies.
Over
past
decades,
wide
range
studies
suggest
both
tissues
under
healthy
diseased
conditions.
Therefore,
this
emphasizes
need
for
additional
employing
multi-approach
analyses
associated
biomarkers
mechanisms
gain
comprehensive
precise
understanding
health.

overview

for
