Cannabis sativa is recognized for its chemical diversity and therapeutic potential, particularly in addressing neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD). Given the complexity of AD, where single-target therapies often prove inadequate, a multi-target approach utilizing cannabis-derived compounds may offer promising alternatives. This review first highlights cannabis by categorizing into cannabinoids non-cannabinoids. It then examines studies investigating effects these on AD-related pathological features. By synthesizing existing knowledge, identifying research gaps, facilitating comparative analysis, this aims to advance future understanding. underscores cannabis's potential strategy contributing valuable insights ongoing scientific discussions.

Objectives/Background: The Cannabis genus contain a mixture of cannabinoids and other minor components which have been studied so far. In this narrative review, we highlight the main aspects polarized discussion between abuse toxicity versus benefits compounds found in sativa plant. Methods: We investigated databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, Web Science World Anti-doping Agency (WADA) documents for scientific publications that can elucidate heated related to negative addiction, organ damage improved sports performance medical benefits, particularly athletes, some are promising nutrients. Results: Scientific arguments bring forward harmful effects cannabinoids, ethical legislative their usage doping substances sports. present synthesis metabolism cannabis along with identification methods routine anti-doping tests. Numerous studies attest beneficial effects, could therapeutic advantage athletes case injuries. These recommend nutrients, well potential pharmacological agents. Conclusions Future Perspectives: From perspective both illegal use investigators sport, there many interpretations, presented discussed review. Despite recent on species, is very little research active especially large groups compared placebo. may complete current vision topic clarify hypotheses launched discussions

Introduction Cannabis, commonly known for both therapeutic and intoxicating effects, is gaining accessibility on legal markets traction as a potential alternative therapy pain mediation, particularly in those suffering from chronic low back pain. However, the effectiveness this population of market forms cannabis, used edibles, unknown. Methods Therefore, study utilized naturalistic prospective design where participants with intentions to initiate cannabis use treatment were recruited self-selected edible products containing varying amounts delta- 9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) cannabidiol (CBD). Products categorized CBD-dominant, THC-dominant, or combined THC CBD (THC + CBD). Results 249 [140 female (56.62%), mean (SD) age 46.30 (16.02), 90% White] tracked over 2 weeks ad libitum assessed during acute administration session changes pain, mood, subjective drug effects. During administration, significant correlation between dose short-term relief was found, suggesting that higher doses associated greater reduction ( p < .05). In addition, levels effects .001), regardless whether also product. Acute primarily tension .05); however, there no associations Over 2-week period results suggested reductions across using all cannabis. trends more frequent CBD-dominant may be perceived observation = .07). ABSTRACT Accurate analysis of pesticide residues in such a complex matrix as cannabis is challenging task. The aim this study was to find an optimal way removing abundant co‐extracts from Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe extract prior its by gas chromatography‐tandem mass spectrometry (GC‐MS/MS). Out the seven procedures tested, clean‐up with Supel QuE Verde sorbent provided most satisfactory performance characteristics for 277 targeted pesticides, which highest number these analytes ever investigated within GC‐MS‐based focused on cannabis. criteria set SANTE/11312/2021 V2 document were considered assess results obtained method validation. Recoveries range 70%–120% repeatability ≤20% 219 114 pesticides at spiking levels 0.1 0.01 mg/kg, respectively. For deeper insight into function tested sorbents understand effects interfering co‐extracts, two‐dimensional GC coupled time‐of‐flight MS employed all purified extracts. Co‐eluting major phytocannabinoids free fatty acids shown be responsible high “chemical noise”, increasing limits quantification respective retention times. Since chemotypes fairly differ phytocannabinoid content, effects, thus characteristics, may vary. Under conditions, validation recommended different chemotypes.
