The recurrent identification of nano-sized plastic particles in humans, animals, and animal-derived products highlights their potential impact on biological systems. Accordingly, the toxicological profile these has become a critical area investigation. In this study, NP was synthesized successfully with an average particle size 100 nm using emulsion polymerization method as model particles. Following co-incubation IEC-6 cells for 24-168 h, notable inhibition cell viability proliferation observed. significant activation autophagy concomitant blockage autophagic flux after 24-72 hours were unveiled by transmission electron microscopy, western blotting, double-fluorescent analysis. A increase number lysosomes expression hydrolase CTSB detected, indicating dysregulation lysosomal function. Integrative transcriptomic metabolomic analyses, alongside detection activated engagement RIPK1-RIPK3-MLKL/PYGL pathway, suggest that obstruction ensuing dysfunction, which leads to membrane permeabilization (LMP) subsequent necroptosis, is key contributory mechanism cytotoxic effects NP.

Commercial applications of nanotechnology in the food industry are rapidly increasing. Accordingly, there is a simultaneous increase amount and diversity nanowaste, which arise as byproducts production, use, disposal, or recycling processes nanomaterials utilized industry. The potential risks this nanowaste to human health environment alarming. It crucial significance establish analytical methods monitoring systems for ensure safety. This review provides comprehensive information on foods well comparative material existing new detection nanowaste. article specifically focused systems. Moreover, current techniques, challenges use progressive underlined, further highlighting advances technology, collaborative efforts, future perspectives effective tracking. Such tracking required order effectively manage type ofwasted foods. Although devices that utilize spectroscopy, spectrometry, microscopy/imaging, chromatography, separation/fractionation, light scattering, diffraction, optical, adsorption, diffusion, centrifugation purpose, be overcome relation matrix method characteristics. New technologies such radio-frequency identification, Internet things, blockchain, data analytics, machine learning promising. The shift toward sustainable agriculture involves replacing inorganic fertilizers with organic alternatives like biosolids. However, concerns arise over emerging contaminants, such as microplastics (MPs), which remain largely unregulated. Despite their common use in Australia, the transfer of MPs from biosolids to agricultural soils remains unknown. Herein, we have investigated abundance, characteristics, and transport resulting application two Queensland sites. MP concentrations were significantly higher biosolid-amended (average 1137 MPs/kg) than reference sites 36 MPs/kg), correlating volume, time since application, frequency application. > 25 μm predominantly polyethylene, polypropylene, poly(methyl methacrylate) fragments (up 85%). Fibers constitute only 15-30% mainly larger sizes 1011 μm), whereas 188 μm) beads 72 had smaller size ranges. analytical challenges using Raman spectroscopy, detected (1-25 composed poly(vinyl alcohol). This study provides first report down 1 Australian soils. Our findings suggest a need assess long-term impact on soil health food safety. We call policymakers consider implementation effective source control strategies development guidelines for acceptable rates.
