Polymeric foams offer significant benefits in terms of resource conservation. Foam injection molding (FIM) is a common mass-production technique used for preparing polymeric foams. Recently, we developed an inline near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopic sensor to monitor the concentrations blowing agents dissolved polymers during process. Several methods are used to accomplish the storage of thermal energy (TE). One promising approach is use waste materials (WM) as mediums. The different kinds TES can be divided into three separate categories: sensible heat, latent and thermo-chemical heat storage.
