Essential oils (EOs) are highly valued in the cosmetic and food industries for their diverse properties. However, traditional extraction methods often result low yields, inconsistent compositions, lengthy times, use of potentially harmful solvents. Natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) have emerged as promising alternatives, offering advantages such higher efficiency, cost-effectiveness, biodegradability, tunable This review explores application NADES enhancing EO extraction, focusing on current methodologies, key insights, practical applications. Centella asiatica (CA), known for its health-promoting properties, is rich in bioactive compounds. This study optimised ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) parameters to maximise total phenolic content (TPC) and flavonoid (TFC) using the response surface methodology (RSM). Ethanol concentration solvent volume significantly influenced TPC TFC yields (p < 0.0001), while ultrasonic power had nonsignificant effects 0.05). Natural deep eutectic solvents (NADESs), as emerging green solvents, can efficiently extract natural products from resources. However, studies on the extraction of phenolic compounds celtuce (Lactuca sativa var. augustana) leaves (CLs) by NADESs are still lacking. This study screened NADES L-proline-lactic acid (Pr-LA), combined it with ultrasound-assisted (UAE) to CLs, and conducted a comparative effect traditional solvents.
