Wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) has become an invaluable tool for tracking the evolution of use or exposure of/to numerous substances. Bisphenols, commonly utilized in manufacturing plastic goods, have been categorized as endocrine disrupting chemicals, underscoring critical need real-time data on their local-level to safeguard public health. In this study, we developed a novel analytical method and WBE framework assessment population-level bisphenol A (BPA) its most prominent substitutes, bisphenols F S (BPF BPS), through determination Phase II metabolites wastewater by WBE. Stability exclusivity tests denoted that glucuronides are not stable sewage, whereas sulfate good biomarkers. Atmospheric microplastics (MPs) are a significant environmental concern, necessitating tailored analytical methods for specific sites like residential, public, and outdoor environments. This review addresses site- target-specific challenges in sampling, pretreatment, quantification of atmospheric MPs. Sampling include wet dry deposition, sweeping, active with classification based on locations. Circular diagrams classify MP types shapes commonly found different areas, aiding identification key MPs Indoors, PET fibers common, while outdoors, PE fragments additionally detected due to long-range air transport, approaches. Suspect and nontarget screening (SNTS) methodologies using human urine are invaluable strategies for understanding the exposome. However, very polar organic compounds often overlooked in those methods due to challenges sample preparation chromatographic analysis. Although "dilute-and-shoot" (DS) followed by mixed-mode liquid chromatography-high-resolution mass spectrometry (MMLC-HRMS) might be deemed suitable, complementary needed enhance SNTS expand compound identification. In this context, potential of nonsupported microelectromembrane extraction (μ-EME) is thoroughly studied as a supplement DS-MMLC-HRMS. It was demonstrated that μ-EME-MMLC-HRMS enables refinement suspect results from 24 h pooled sample.
