Fullerenes,
a
unique
allotrope
of
carbon,
have
captured
significant
attention
in
multiple
scientific
fields.
As
non-destructive
characterization
technique,
Raman
spectroscopy
has
proven
indispensable
for
investigating
fullerenes
and
their
derivatives,
offering
detailed
insights
into
vibrational
properties.
This
review
discusses
the
broad
utility
revealing
structural
physicochemical
characteristics
fullerenes—from
iconic
C60
molecule
to
an
array
its
derivatives—highlighting
capacity
detect
functionalization-induced
changes
molecular
structure
electronic
properties,
while
also
assessing
environmental
influences
such
as
solvent
effects
temperature
variations.
Particular
emphasis
is
placed
on
advanced
Raman-based
techniques,
including
enhanced
spectroscopy,
surface-enhanced
(SERS),
tip-enhanced
(TERS),
derivatives.
These
cutting-edge
methods
offer

Surface-enhanced
Raman
scattering
(SERS)
spectroscopy
has
grown
in
popularity
as
a
bioaerosol
monitoring
method
due
to
its
high
sensitivity
and
specificity,

Leveraging
sensitivity

nanosensors

labelling

AST.

we

surface-enhanced
Raman
scattering
(SERS)-based
nanofibre
sensors
heavy
water
[deuterium
oxide
(D2O)]
(SERS-DIP)
detecting
minimum
inhibitory
concentration
(MIC)
AST
trimethoprim
(TMP)
against
E.
coli.
SERS-DIP
rapidly
detected
MIC
TMP
susceptible
strain
2
h.
TMP-resistant
cells
retained
metabolic
activity
regardless
levels,
confirming
resistance
phenotype.
Kinetic
analysis
D
uptake
by
resistant
treated
with
(2
×
MIC)
revealed
increasing
levels
proportional
peak
redshifts
over
time,
confirmed
machine
learning-driven
data
exploration.
Our
results
demonstrate
utility
nanofibre-enabled
robust
AST,
uncovering
new
spectral
biomarkers
that
may
impact
clinical
medicine.

DNA
(cfDNA)
refers

extracellular
fragments

Microbial
cfDNA
(cfmDNA),
derived
from
bacteria,
can

be
present

healthy
