This study investigates the understudied relationship between post-/pandemic mobility adaptations and wellbeing outcomes, drawing on a longitudinal mixed-method approach combining survey analyses in-depth citizen interviews conducted 2019 2022 in Oslo, Norway. Qualitative explore depth diversity of pandemic implications for hedonic eudaimonic wellbeing. Factor structural equation models confirm statistical evidence three coping strategies – working from home, avoiding spaces infection, (enjoyment of) local environment with respectively neutral, negative positive impacts satisfaction life. The post-pandemic ability to be more mobile attend diverse activities again is by many perceived as positive, but people struggle maintain cherished aspects slower-paced, localised lifestyles adopted during pandemic. We discuss significance our findings inclusive resilience, reflect lessons relevant addressing another crisis climate change.

This article explores the changes in transport and mobility patterns that were triggered by Covid-19 pandemic, as well citizens' potential new expectations arising from this situation regarding public policy urban planning. We conducted an extensive survey 20 cities across 11 European countries during second quarter of 2021, with a total 10000 respondents. The information we collected covered change frequency technology-based alternatives to travel -such teleworking online shopping-compared pre-pandemic period. It also included trip frequency, purpose, mode destination. Using dataset input, applied classification model explains choice based on respondent characteristics preferences. Our findings suggest induced pandemic are result combination degree restrictions imposed each city, adoption lifestyle work patterns, individual choices depend personal risk aversion. identify three main challenges for policy: increasing use car can reinforce long-term dependency, avoidance may lead financial operational instability, uncertainty regards future innovation transport, especially emerging technologies business models.

Abstract The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic made a perceptible impact on daily travel behaviour worldwide, especially through mode shifts and changes in trip frequencies with possible long-term repercussions. Non-therapeutic interventions adopted worldwide (e.g. lockdowns restrictions) to reduce viral contagion need be understood holistically because it is challenging for people follow these policies stay home developing nations. In this context, important have clear idea of how COVID-19 shaping the mobility pattern what must taken (if not yet) minimize transmission as well develop sustainable transportation system. Harnessing a unique data source - longitudinal travel smartcard linked to passenger demographics from 2019 2022 we use methods of survival analysis model the recovery public transport patronage among 183,891 senior citizens resident in West Midlands metropolitan region United Kingdom. Comparing pre and peri-pandemic patronage, identify pronounced social spatial inequalities speed return transport. We find that male, younger non-White passengers are more likely as soon movement restrictions were lifted, whereas White ethnic background affluent areas do not within first year after outbreak. Pronounced persist into middle 2021, only thence they began attenuate part wider post retirement age. In 2022, 80% these have returned but frequency has remained lower than prior pandemic. discuss implications for policy planning.
