In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, scholars mobilized their efforts to address its far-reaching societal problems. With mobility restrictions being front and center a new cohort transportation science was developed within short period time. Here, we examine more than 400 studies related published across journals during 2020 2021. The aim is (i) scope this newly segment research, (ii) outline diversity pandemic-related issues various divisions field (iii) provide roadmap for future line research. Common themes are identified existing congruence discrepancies findings discussed. Results show that although conventional methods research were adopted in virtually all studies, no pre-pandemic study particularly instrumental development literature. appears have own independent knowledge foundation, that, it does not systemically frequently look back at any particular reference. Using an integrated dataset over 150 million US county-level mobile device data from 01/01/2020 20/04/2021, we employ Bayesian structural time series (BSTS) models infer relative vaccination intervention five types Metropolitan, Micropolitan Rural areas. Further, develop partial least squares regression (PLSR) accurately estimate how rates, epidemiological indicators (i.e., incidence death testing rates) weather conditions temperature, rain, snow) would various behaviors areas during recovery period pandemic. model results shed light positive role vaccinations in fostering reveal disparities resilience response indicators, Our findings can offer evidential insights policymakers, transport planners, health officials, guiding development equitable, sustainable, resilient systems prepared adapt pandemics.

In this context, cities are analyzing what factors hindering recovery process design actions promote sustainable mobility. Thus, study, carried out city Almeria (Spain), tried analyze whether main operating variables municipal bus network (frequency, average vehicle occupancy, length lines, or suburban character, circularity, nodality, intermodality) have an impact on annual number users recovered 2022 compared 2019. Although strong statistical correlation between was not observed, overall results show lines most as well nodal serve key centroids such university, highlighting dependence public might be important determinant process, more than other representative service’s intrinsic quality frequency occupancy. This result shows importance facilitating those who lack alternatives, convenience restrictions less transportation alternatives for prompt space lost by transportation.
