Structural imbalance of medical resources amid population mobility and digital empowerment: a study of national and port-developed provinces in China DOI Creative Commons

Currently, many cities in China are facing the problem of difficult medical care and expensive care, while at same time a large number hospitals on verge closing. However, existing literature is unable to adequately explain these phenomena. To fill this gap, study focuses causes structural imbalance resources from perspective population mobility governance pathways digital empowerment. By analyzing entire country port-developed provinces with advanced conditions, several key findings revealed: (1) Different types exert differentiated attraction effects mobility. High-tier strong pull mobility, impact primary facilities not evident; (2) Continuous movements lead resource, characterized by overburdened high-tier coexisting underutilized facilities; (3) Economic development has increased people’s emphasis health prevention critical illnesses, making aforementioned more pronounced China; (4) Digital empowerment offers new for addressing issues. introducing diagnostic devices facilities, likelihood major diseases can be swiftly assessed. This technology only enables intelligent triage but also effectively mitigates resources.
