Background: The resilience of shipping alliances within the global maritime container network (GMCN) has critical implications for trade. This study examines topological robustness strategic (SAs) in liner shipping, focusing on their structural properties and responses to disruptions. Method: Using pre-2019 vessel schedule data, we constructed a weighted node-edge model GMCN. Centrality metrics were computed identify nodes, simulations conducted evaluate under random failures (RFs) targeted attacks (TAs). Results: results highlight GMCN’s scale-free topology, which fosters against RFs but exposes vulnerabilities TAs high-centrality nodes like Singapore Shanghai. Among alliances, 2M Ocean demonstrated superior resilience, attributed port selection extensive coverage, yet reliance central hubs presents significant risks. Conclusions: underscores importance alliance-specific strategies, such as infrastructure investments redundancy planning, mitigate vulnerabilities. By bridging gaps existing literature, research provides insights policymakers industry stakeholders enhance adaptability logistics networks. These findings contribute ensuring stable supply chains an evolving trade environment.
