The behavior of two polymeric protective paint coatings (epoxy and polyurethane) applied over an epoxy primer coating on steel plates was investigated in this study, focusing their role providing anticorrosive protection against various climatic stress factors. Among the numerous factors that can affect lifetime coatings, following were selected for work: dry heat, UV radiation, humidity, extreme conditions such as salt fog, marine atmosphere, alpine atmosphere. objective to determine remaining these before replacement is needed prevent damage equipment they protect. materials under mentioned analyzed based variation tangent dielectric loss angle (tg δ) with frequency. From interpretation experimental results, it found polyurethane (P2) exhibits superior resistance degradation compared (P1). Furthermore, a comparison tg δ values P1 P2 revealed initial (unaged) performs better insulator (dielectric) than coating. Comprehensive information provided users materials, highlighting extent which performance protect determining appropriate timing replacing coatings.

Tribocorrosion is a recent paradigm of tribology defined as the combination simultaneous mechanical and chemical wear couplings. To date, this phenomenon common in several engineering fields, such naval sector where marine equipment, offshore platforms so on are clear examples. In regard, synergy between effects has notable effect behavior couplings seawater environment. Nevertheless, latter can act also antagonistic factor. Hence, manuscript, an investigation was conducted tribosystem composed alumina sphere stainless-steel AISI 316 L flat, immersed artificial solution 3.8 % NaCl pH 8.2. The analysis, carried out by reciprocating tribometer equipped with two/three-electrode potentiostat, performed for different loads frequency values, their correlation synergistic investigated. open-circuit potential, friction coefficient, tribocorrosive current total were evaluated tribological conditions. It found that force sliding velocity had significant position response, passing from positive to negative mainly due protective action oxide layer lubrication corrosion products formed during motion. Moreover, modeled via two analytical laws discussed literature, providing good agreement experimental data. Lastly, provided thickness evolution samples surface its relationship wear.
