Water scarcity is a global problem that particularly affects islands located in arid regions or with limited water resources. This issue has prompted the development of non-conventional sources such as fossil fuel-powered desalination systems. Concern about high energy and environmental costs associated this type facility created ideal framework for proliferation projects powered by renewable energies, especially wind due to multiple advantages it offers. article provides bibliometric analysis identify advances made wind-powered on islands. While many studies explore desalination, none compile references specific paper analyses islands’ needs showcases systems, exploring their types uses. Firstly, most relevant international scientific journals are identified allow subsequent selection quantitative qualitative articles directly dealing A total 2344 obtained from Scopus database were analyzed, which 144 including 181 case selected.
