Rock breaking has always been a challenging problem that must be solved in projects such as excavating mountains, drilling wells, and constructing railways. Among the rock-breaking cutter steels, AISI H13 steel wear-resistant high manganese have become best choices. From characteristics failure modes of two, steels should simultaneously strength, toughness wear resistance to avoid short-term fracture/damage cost increase. Analyzing problems existing molding process die casting, forging, hot stamping, traditional strengthening technologies alloying optimization, heat treatment, surface treatment can achieve certain performance enhancement. After reaching limits technologies, series nanoparticle came into being. The selection, addition amount, method nanoparticles all affect microstructure, mechanical properties wear. To this end, article summarizes research progress challenges discusses mainstream technologies. It provides reference for future development high-quality high-performance with aim expand their application potentials other fields.

The estimation of disc cutter life is important due to the high equipment replacement cost in tunnel boring machines (TBMs). In this paper, we propose a comprehensive method for predicting wear, integrating dimensionality reduction shield tunneling parameters, data input preprocessing, and optimized model selection. First, select core TBM operation parameters as inputs through principal component analysis (PCA) PCA directly. And, then, based on characteristics preprocessing time series models. This uses excavation rings units, providing more accurate representation actual process. Furthermore, by evaluating prediction accuracy, training efficiency, inference efficiency various models, demonstrate that combined + Min Max Scaler gated recurrent unit (GRU) achieves most results while offering real-time capabilities.
