High-density cities, such as Singapore, are currently facing the urban heat island (UHI) effect, a phenomenon that leads to higher air and surface temperatures within area in comparison surroundings is one of most critical anthropogenic climate change-related environmental issues for contemporary high-density cities. This study aims investigate effect different morphologies high-rise low-rise buildings, green areas, water bodies on microclimate Singapore. Mobile measurements taken from pedestrian perspective were conducted first time central Singapore explore severity UHI through distinctive morphologies. The Sky View Factor (SVF) was metric used quantify these characteristics. During daytime, temperature when SVF increased, except body area. Shading showed be an important factor decreasing tropics. Reductions by up 4.5 ºC observed due buildings shading during while cooling vegetation reduced 4 daytime 1 at night-time. Thus, this revealed strong relationship between decrease greenery coverage city. Therefore, understanding morphology conditions may better drive sustainable planning development Finally, it demonstrated importance using mobile monitoring retrieve granular data allows identifying specific hyperlocal scale, which would not recognised other techniques.
