As the urban heat island effect has become a worldwide phenomenon commonly affecting densely built-up areas, public administrations need efficient strategies to mitigate its impact on human well-being and health. The aim of this study was define replicable method estimate ecosystem services provided by street trees as supporting tool in decision-making process greenery management. We compared three arrangements characteristic residential district Pisa, Italy: (1) with large trees, (2) small (3) without trees. First, software i-Tree Eco used assess benefits located case-study area when scenarios. Second, comparison held field, we collected data wet bulb globe temperature meter order evaluate differences pedestrian thermal comfort among arrangements. results confirmed importance vegetation, it major impacts carbon sequestration storage, pollution removal, air humidity quality, shade, given bigger canopy sizes. loss presence varied between 40% 50% (no trees) 30% (small trees).

Abstract The Yamuna River, a vital water source in India, poses profound challenge concerning purity across its entire stretch. comprehensive review aims to thoroughly examine the river's quality, shedding light on sources of pollution and their consequences for both ecological systems public health. primary objective this is published research papers River quality stretching from Yamunotri Prayagraj resulting impact human This paper also comprises wide range pollutants mainly caused by activity; during strange period COVID-19 lockdown, when all industries were closed, changes signifies destructive effects activity river. Studies uncover that most contaminated areas are Nizamuddin Delhi region D/S Agra Uttar Pradesh, which includes foremost level faecal coliforms be around 210000–11000000 450–6100000, respectively. total found between 700000–28000000 2200–32000000, Biochemical oxygen demands, industrial discharge, urban waste agriculture identified as responsible factors contamination. After open, now, conditions same before COVID-19. insight assembled balance health depend immediate requirement effective wastewater treatment solutions. Besides offering valuable data compiling findings multiple studies, underscores importance implementing stringent regulations emissions, upgrading sewage plants, promoting eco-friendly farming methods tackle manage rural pipeline plan. It stresses safeguarding ecosystem's inherent socioeconomic benefits while alleviating environmental harm pervasive pollution. Essentially, study calls prompt measures ensure sustainable crucial resource India.
