Amidst the global shift towards a low-carbon development trajectory, hickory industry in Lin’an District is progressively embracing green, low-carbon, and sustainable practices. This study, leveraging life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology, meticulously scrutinizes carbon footprint of by segmenting its into two distinct subsystems: plantation factory. Through comprehensive, year-long monitoring soil greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions plantations, our findings underscore that while total GHG from eco-complex management (ECM) surpassed those intensive (IM) 10.7% (p < 0.001), ECM significantly mitigated per kilogram produced, achieving reduction 1.0495 kgCO2eq. advantage primarily attributable to ECM’s diminished reliance on chemical fertilizers. Within factory subsystem, when processing 1 kg hickory, digital incurred 2.5923 kgCO2eq kg−1, whereas family workshops exhibited lower 1.9544 kg−1. Notably, packaging stages collectively accounted for over 90% subsystem’s emissions, with natural being primary contributor during processing. To estimate emission potential within industry, this research draws parallels strategies employed other industries outlines tailored propel development. By advocating widespread adoption enhancing energy efficiency enterprises, can effectively diminish steer high-quality paradigm.
